Peacock Box Silver Betel Lidded Container

This cast box represents a stylized peacock (or maybe even the mythical karaweik ) and is hinged so it can open to store anything inside that is roughly egg sized. Quite possibly, this was originally a betel box or modeled off of one.

A very unique cast metal box!

Metal content is unknown but it is silvery in tone and may be pewter or a light bronze combination. It has beautiful details and is quite heavy for it’s size!
